A Rushed Party

On Friday, we had a fall tea party in Home Ec. We invited My friend Rio's mom to come to tea with us. We had cinnamon tea, croissant sandwiches, brown butter cookies, chocolate chip scones, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate filled raspberries. I liked the chocolate filled raspberries the best. Most of the food was made overnight by someone in my group, except for the scones. The scones were made in class, but sadly I was absent that day. When we got to school on Friday we quickly set up the table and waited. The tea party was fun, but we were always rushed, next time we should plan further ahead!

Making Crepes

Last week we were going to make crepes, but I was still sick on the day we made them.

Playing with Food

Last week we were supposed to do garde mange, unfortunately I missed the day we were doing so.

A Christmas Cookie

Over winter break my mom and I made cookies on Christmas Eve. They were plain chocolate chip cookies. We had a lot of batter, so we decided to make a cookie bar! We completely covered the pan in cookie dough and put it in the oven. We still had dough so we made a couple normal cookies. We tried both of them and decided that the cookie bar was obviously better! The cookie bar was better because it wasn't nearly as dry as the normal cookies. So, next time we know to just make a cookie bar instead.

Microwaved Dish

Two weeks ago we made honey baked apples, it wasn't that hard, but I don't think I'd do it again. The preparation didn't take that long, and neither did the microwaving part, but it was very hot when it came out. We had to wait a long time to eat it and we didn't really have the time we needed, so we sucked it up and tried to eat the honey baked apples. It was really hot and it wasn't my favorite. Well, at least we still finished on time.

A Very Eggy Situation

Yesterday in Home Ec. we made omelets.... it wasn't as good as you'd think. It started out fun and easy, but it didn't turn out that great. From dropping omelets to somehow burning them it was quite the experience! It was so much harder than we were told, they said it was one of the easiest things to make, but that was a complete lie. We had so much trouble with it! Sadly, the ham was the only thing that actually tasted good! Talk about a total disaster! Hopefully it won't be such a mess next time!

Only Lasts So Long...

I've been reading more of This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. Recently Remy has started to become fond of Dexter, but this is a problem since she doesn't date musicians. Dexter helped her out one night, and now she wants to get to know him better. One interesting night they kissed. Their strange relationship has finally began! Remy always seems to have a schedule for dating, that the relationship seems perfect at first, cracks start to show, it gets worse, and finally it breaks. Except, this time it's not going that way, Remy already has seen his flaws, ad she hasn't even given Dexter "the speech" yet! This may turn out different than before!
This Lullaby is such a great book! I'm having trouble deciding whether I like this one better or Just Listen. Sarah Dessen is an amazing author, I can never seem to put her books down! All the characters have a big story going on, something about them that makes them different, but not that different at all. This is probably confusing you, but what I mean is that you can really sympathize with the characters. The fights that I've read about in Just Listen practically made my heart ache. I love her books so much, I would recommend reading any one of them.
